nina's birthday boots

so nina will be 11 on friday. yeah - i know. i'm not happy about it either.

anyway - she's had me running all over the damn city trying to find a pair of those damn big fluffy boots that all the girls are wearing for fashion and not function. i've been just about everyplace that would sell knockoffs at a reasonable price and keep having issues finding them in her size - a 5 - not all kids shoes go as high as a 5...

anyway, i finally caved and went to famous footware and got her these...

they are so cute i almost want a pair myself.

i know i'm not the first...

to make this connection - but this story reminds me of a certain episode of buffy the vampire slayer...

edited to add - i went to youtube and watched the video and it REALLY weirded me out!

i want that job...

the job of which i type this time is the job of deciding which pictures go where in the sunday ads.

for example: this week, on sale at target is ky yours and mine lubricant. it is strategically placed next to the delsym 12 hour cough syrup and under the tampax and always femine hygene products. i see the picture and i have two questions that come to mind immediately:

1. why next to the cough syrup? is that really appropriate? especially since above the delsym is the children's dimetapp...

2. who sees an add for ky and says "ooh! ky's on sale!! i so have to stock up on THAT." (for the record - i say the same thing when i see that walgreens has pregnancy tests on sale...)
